Starting life in a new country can be emotionally challenging, especially for individuals living in asylum accommodation who may be dealing with uncertainty and isolation.

To support wellbeing and create positive social spaces, Migrant Haven delivered craft and wellbeing sessions within asylum accommodation settings.

These sessions brought people together in a relaxed environment where they could create pottery and clay crafts while sharing conversation and laughter.

Participants learned to shape clay, create small pieces of pottery, and express themselves creatively. What might seem like a simple activity became something much more meaningful. It provided a moment of calm, creativity, and connection.

Many participants proudly shared the items they created, taking home something tangible that represented their effort and creativity.

More importantly, the sessions helped individuals connect with others in the accommodation, reducing isolation and encouraging positive social interaction.

Sometimes, something as simple as creating something with your hands can restore a sense of confidence and wellbeing.
